Aminit High School

When TDT first visited Aminit High School in October 2018 the school was more a dream than a reality. A few classes used borrowed classrooms from a primary school that would soon need them back. A brick outline of a three classroom block had risen to around waist height but had then stalled through lack of funds.

There was no lack of need, the nearest secondary school was nearly 10 miles away, so for all the local children education stopped at primary level.

With support from St Peter’s Church in Ruddington, the school began to become a reality, the 3 classroom block was raised and roofed. A four classroom block with office and store room was begun.

The local politicians began to see progress and came on board providing an admin block, four more classrooms and a latrine.

While far form complete there are now enough classrooms for the student body and the local children can look forward to a full education.
