Teso Development Trust / Privacy Policy

Who we are

Teso Development Trust (“TDT”, “we”) is a UK registered charity (number 1005139), based at 5 North Villiers Street, Leamington Spa, CV32 5XZ. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, please email or call 0800 731 3460.

What information we collect and why

  • When you contact us through a form on this website, by email or by phone, we keep your name, contact details and message so that we can reply. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering your enquiry.
  • When you give, by bank transfer, standing order, cheque or our Supporter Response Form, we keep your name, address, contact details and gift details so that we can process and acknowledge your gift. If you make a Gift Aid declaration, we keep it and share the details HMRC requires to claim Gift Aid; this is a legal obligation. Gifts made through JustGiving are also covered by JustGiving’s own privacy policy.
  • When you leave us a legacy or tell us you intend to, we keep the details you give us so that we can carry out your wishes.
  • Newsletters and updates. If you ask to receive our Partnership News or other updates, we use your contact details to send them. You can ask us to stop at any time.

Website analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies, small files stored on your device, which collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, and your approximate location. It does not tell us who you are. We only set these analytics cookies if you agree to them in the cookie notice, and you can change your choice at any time. The website also uses a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work, and pages with embedded videos or social media content may set cookies from those services (such as YouTube or Facebook).

Who we share your information with

We never sell your information or share it with other organisations for their own marketing. We share it only with HMRC for Gift Aid claims, with service providers who help us run the charity (such as our website host, email provider and Google Analytics), or where the law requires it. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, they are required to protect it to UK standards.

How long we keep it

We keep records of gifts and Gift Aid declarations for at least six years after the last gift, as HMRC requires. We keep enquiries only as long as needed to deal with them, and supporter contact details until you ask us to stop contacting you.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
