St Peter’s Theological College, Soroti

In spite of being under resourced and running off a low income, St Peter’s College, the Lay Reader training college for the Diocese of Soroti, has always been full of exuberant, cheerful and dedicated students.

Robert de Berry has been a dedicated steward of the progress of the college on behalf of TDT over the years, diligently raising funds from private donors and other trusts.

These funds have supported the construction new classrooms, a new kitchen, supplied learning materials and paid for supplementary educational courses. The Lay Readers are the backbone of the Church of Uganda taking on much more responsibility than they do in the UK and the training they receive at the college is vital to help them effectively carry out their work.
