In many ways the community in the Apopong area is a new community. This very Northern area of Teso was largely abandoned for many years as civil war, marauding cattle raiders and finally the murderous Lord’s Resistance Army broke the will of the local Iteso people to stay. but with the return of peace the next generation of those Iteso have returned along with people moving from more overcrowded areas of Teso.
But the growing community needed water, then some agricultural infrastructure all of which was provided by TDT through PAG North Teso. But now the need is for a primary education for their children and slowly TDT donors are making that too a reality as a four classroom block starts to rise on land donated by the Church of Uganda.
