The water table in North Teso is low which means that in order to provide safe water a borehole needs to be sunk. The current cost to sink one borehole is £7000. A recent borehole completed was in Odimai Village in Amuria which provided safe water for 1239 people. This borehole provides water for the communities in Odiding where TDT has also funded a project in agricultural skills and livestock management. The community already report improvements to their daily lives in terms of reduced conflict at home, more time to invest in small scale business and better overall health. The water can also be used by local school children improving their attendance.
